Precise diagnostics
First, we perform a clinical examination, measure the depth of periodontal pockets (probing), assess gum bleeding, and, if necessary, take an X-ray to evaluate bone loss.
Initial treatment phase (hygiene phase)
This is followed by thorough removal of tartar and bacterial plaque above and below the gum line. We perform scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), which reduces the amount of bacteria and allows the gums to heal.
Monitoring and success assessment
After a few weeks, we check the condition of the gums and the depth of the pockets. In milder forms, this is often enough to stabilize the disease.
Further treatment (if necessary)
In advanced periodontitis, additional procedures may be required, such as surgical treatment of periodontal pockets or regenerative procedures to restore lost bone.
